Chad Williams, MSW 鈥�23, a Queens, New York, native and dedicated social work PhD student, works for the New York City Administration for Children鈥檚 Services while completing his doctorate. He recently authored a children鈥檚 book with his daughter that encourages young girls to feel empowered and confident. Williams鈥� goal: to continue to find ways to tie social work to the arts.

When Wendy Goidel, JD, saw her clients needed more than legal expertise, she created a unique program that helps older adults and their families while providing valuable experience in gerontological social work to graduate students.

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Bridges to 麻豆传媒映画program and the 麻豆传媒映画 Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging co-hosted an event focusing on self-advocacy for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Shayla Clarke '16, MS '19, went from criminal justice to emergency management to a vital role in the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management and an 麻豆传媒映画10 Under 10 award.

Professor Pamela Buckle, PhD, MA '13, teaches nontraditional students in CPCS and earned her degree in the program as well.

It's a good thing Bern Clair '73, JD, is an early riser, because it inadvertently launched his career.

Leadership, communication, management and intellectual curiosity were a few traits Ari Shaiken 鈥�13 listed that surfaced during his time as a student at 麻豆传媒映画and have helped him throughout his career.

While doing research for which college to attend, 麻豆传媒映画 met many of Kevin Rowe 鈥�15鈥檚 criteria鈥攍ocation in Nassau County, a strong physical education program, an opportunity to engage in student teaching in a robust public school district and a diverse educational experience.

Kimberly Marquart 鈥�18's decision to attend 麻豆传媒映画 stemmed from the University's personable campus environment and small class sizes. 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 feel like just another number because of that," Marquart explained.

Mahnoor Misbah 鈥�14, Esq., chose 麻豆传媒映画because of the Honors College, the professors and the beautiful campus.

Michael Khayan 鈥�15 chose 麻豆传媒映画because it gave him the opportunity to balance suburban and urban experiences, allowing him to complete multiple internships in Manhattan while taking advantage of Long Island's slower pace.

Samantha (Sami) Coleman 鈥�17鈥檚 guiding star can be defined by one phrase that was shared by her father, Sean Coleman: 鈥淪tay true to who you are, be yourself, you are enough.鈥�

Steven Lander 鈥�14 chose to attend 麻豆传媒映画 because of the perfect blend of academic excellence with a nurturing and inclusive community.

Vinny Messana 鈥�13 was drawn to 麻豆传媒映画by the success of its baseball team, sparking a desire to become a part of it. He also wanted to combine his passion for sports and journalism.
