While there\u2019s only one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/commencement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/commencement.adelphi.edu\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1678900199927000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0tQcDmx3_etWDrg0TQ71es\">commencement ceremony<\/a> held in May, students can participate if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduated in the previous August, December, or January.<\/li>\n<li>Are completing their degree requirements in May.<\/li>\n<li>Are within<span>\u00a0<\/span>12 credits<span>\u00a0<\/span>of finishing and will complete them by August of that year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Applying for Graduation<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Graduation is\u00a0not automatic<\/strong><span><strong>!<\/strong> To graduate, students must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete the<span> <a href=\"https:\/\/class.adelphi.edu\/graduation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online graduation application<\/a> <\/span>or submit a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/one-stop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/79\/2025\/01\/Application-for-Graduation-Candidacy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">downloadable application form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Submit the application by the deadline listed in the<span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/academics\/academic-calendar\/\">Academic Calendar<\/a><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>to ensure their name appears in the commencement booklet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Degrees will not be awarded to students who fail to apply for graduation. Late applications will be processed for the next graduation date.<\/p>\n<h2>Graduation Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Students must meet both <a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.adelphi.edu\/content.php?catoid=41&amp;navoid=2468\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">general degree requirements<\/a> as outlined in the <a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.adelphi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University Bulletin<\/a> and program-specific requirements listed under their school\/college and department.<\/p>\n<p><span>Matriculated students typically follow the requirements from the University Bulletin in effect when they are admitted. However, students who take a break for\u00a0<\/span>two or more consecutive fall\/spring semesters<span>\u00a0will follow the Bulletin in effect when they return to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Receiving Diplomas<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Diplomas are mailed to graduates 8-10 weeks after the official degree conferral date.<\/strong> Diplomas will not be issued to students with outstanding obligations to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­.<\/p>\n<p>The diploma includes the name of the school\/college, the degree awarded, and any Latin honors earned. While majors, minors, concentrations, and specializations are not listed on the diploma, this information is reflected on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/one-stop\/registration\/grades-transcripts-and-graduation\/transcripts\/\">official transcript<\/a>. If your diploma is lost or damaged, you can request a replacement by submitting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/one-stop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/79\/2025\/01\/Diploma-Reorder-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diploma Replacement Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Conferral of Degrees Degrees are awarded on\u00a0January 31, May 31, August 31, and December 31 of each year.
